Corcino

Corcino posted a solid 3.40 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 102/41 K/BB ratio over 103 1/3 innings last season at Triple-A Oklahoma City and also had a brief stint with the Dodgers in June. The 28-year-old right-hander will remain an organizational depth piece for Los Angeles in 2019.

An expected move in advance of December’s Rule 5 Draft. Corcino has a solid 3.57 ERA over his first five pro seasons, including a 3.01 ERA and 126/65 K/BB over 143 1/3 innings this season in Double-A. The 22-year-old right-hander is progressing quite nicely.

He’s been assigned to High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Corcino began the year in the Cubs’ organization but was let go about a month ago after struggling to an 8.68 ERA over five appearances for Double-A Tennessee. The 26-year-old last pitched in the majors in 2014, compiling a 4.34 ERA across five outings for Cincinnati.

Corcino was designated for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the 40-man roster for Xavier Cedeno, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain as organizational depth for the Dodgers.

Corcino is looking to bounce back in 2014 after a disastrous first turn at Triple-A last season. He could make his major league debut this year if he does rebound.

Corcino had a 4.34 ERA in three starts and two relief appearances last season with the Reds. The 24-year-old righty is organizational rotation and relief depth.

So the Reds designated both Ryan Dennick and Corcino for assignment Monday. The Dodgers claimed Dennick before designating him for assignment in order to claim Corcino. Got it? Corcino is just a depth guy for Los Angeles.

Corcino was one of the Reds’ better prospects a couple years ago, but he’s really struggled the last two seasons. The 24-year-old stands a decent chance at clearing waivers.

The 24-year-old right-hander was just claimed off waivers from the Reds last Friday, but he pitched poorly in his one appearance for the Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate and got the boot Wednesday to clear a 40-man roster spot for Xavier Cedeno. Corcino posted a 4.34 ERA in three starts and two relief appearances last season with the Reds.

Corcino, 25, was claimed off waivers from the Reds back in April and made three appearances (including two starts) at the Double-A level before missing the remainder of the season with an undisclosed injury. If healthy, he’ll provide some depth in the minors.
