Red Sox OF prospect Danny Mars clubbed six hits Saturday in a win for High-A Salem.
It was the first six-hit game by a Salem player since Mark Gile accomplished the feat in 1984. Mars also drove in a career-high five runs as the Red Sox topped visiting Lynchburg in extra innings. The 22-year-old has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games while raising his season average from .270 to .293. Mars is tied for sixth in the Carolina League with 27 steals this season.
