Heider Velazquez went 3-for-5 with a homer and five RBI for low Single-A Asheville on Monday.
Velazquez still hasn’t proven he was ready for full-season ball, but he has had a couple of nice games lately. For the season, the 19-year-old is at .211/.260/.367 with 27 strikeouts in 90 at-bats. He’s not going to last at shortstop and he needs to take a few more pitches, but his tools are quite intriguing.
