    The 29-year-old hurler was jettisoned off of the Brewers’ 40-man roster earlier in the week, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the team at the Triple-A level.

    Meeker has been removed from Milwaukee’s 40-man roster to make room for top prospect Carlos Rodríguez to ascend to the majors ahead of Tuesday’s showdown against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old righty made his big-league debut last week before being shipped back to the minors.

    Meeker made his major-league debut on Friday with a scoreless inning against the Tigers. The 29-year-old righty will head back to the minors to wait for another opportunity at the highest level.

    LHP Aaron Ashby was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move and the Brewers already had a 40-man roster spot available for Meeker. The 27-year-old right-hander had a 2.67 ERA in 18 appearances between Double-A and Triple-A this year.
