Reds acquired shortstop Jose Castro and outfielder Sean Henry from the Mets for first baseman Jeff Conine.
Castro had taken quite a leap forward this year, hitting .318/.363/.383 as a 20-year-old in the Florida State League. The 5-foot-8 switch-hitter has the glove to last at shortstop, so there’s a chance he could make it to the majors someday. Still, neither prospect the Reds are getting here was ranked among the Mets’ top 15 minor leaguers.
