A converted shortstop, Prince batted .251/.346/.360 with seven home runs, 55 RBI, 41 stolen bases and a .706 OPS this season in Double-A. His recent strong performance in the Arizona Fall League likely helped his case for a spot on the 40-man roster.

Prince will provide some outfield depth while Norichika Aoki is away on paternity leave. The 25-year-old went 1-for-5 in six games with the Brewers earlier this season.

Prince was called up from the minors earlier this week, but he’ll head back down now that Norichika Aoki is back from paternity leave. The 25-year-old went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during his brief stay with the big club.

The 25-year-old will provide bench depth while Aramis Ramirez recovers from a knee sprain. Prince can play shortstop, third base and all three outfield spots.

Aramis Ramirez will be activated from the DL prior to Friday’s game to take Prince’s roster spot. The speedy outfielder received just five at-bats for the Brew Crew despite being up for nearly a month.

The move clears him from the 40-man roster. Prince had two stints with the big club before the All-Star break, but he spent the majority of the season in Triple-A, batting .237/.338/.368 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI in 115 games.

Prince, who signed a minor league deal with the Tigers over the winter, was batting .205/.295/.299 with two home runs and nine RBI over 132 plate appearances with Double-A Erie. The 27-year-old will attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Prince appeared in eight games with the Brewers last season, but he spent all of 2014 with Double-A Huntsville, batting .246/.356/.333 with five home runs and 35 RBI over 111 games. The 26-year-old will attempt to latch on elsewhere.

It’s unclear if the deal will include an invitation to big league spring training. The 29-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Independent Atlantic League, most recently slashing .263/.375/.389 with 11 homers, 52 RBI and 55 stolen bases in 127 games in 2017.
