Marlins prospect outfielder Kolby Copeland was suspended 50 games for refusing to take an offseason drug test.
Copeland was selected in third round last year and batted .280/.330/.397 with zero homers, 34 RBI and four stolen bases in 62 games between rookie ball and Low-A Jamestown in his pro debut. Now he’ll get a late start on his 2013 season. The 19-year-old was ranked as the organization’s No. 18 prospect by Baseball America this winter.
