Giants signed RHP Logan Shore to a minor league contract.
Shore was a highly-regarded pitching prospect a few years ago, but never quite panned out for the Athletics and Tigers. The 28-year-old righty spent the last two seasons in Detroit’s minor league system and finished last year with a disastrous 5.68 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 39/24 K/BB ratio across 52 1/3 innings (25 appearances, six starts) for Triple-A Toledo.

    Tigers released RHP Logan Shore.
Shore was acquired from the A’s back in 2018 as the player to be named later in the Mike Fiers trade. The 27-year-old had struggled to a 5.68 ERA and 39/24 K/BB ratio in 52 1/3 innings this summer at Triple-A Toledo.

Athletics prospect Logan Shore threw five shutout innings on Sunday for High-A Stockton.
Shore allowed just three hits, and while he did walk three, he struck out seven. The A’s took the right-hander out of Florida with the 47th pick last June, and he’ll show two above-average pitches in his fastball and change, and he throws those pitches for strikes. He needs to improve the breaking-ball, but if it can be even average, he can pitch in a rotation someday.

Athletics prospect right-hander Logan Shore has been diagnosed with a trapezius strain.
Shore hopes to return to action in a week or so. A second-round pick from 2016, the 23-year-old put up a solid 3.68 ERA and 87/16 K/BB ratio over 80 2/3 innings between rookie ball and High-A last season. He’s one of the team’s better pitching prospects.

Tigers acquired RHP Logan Shore from the Athletics as the player to be named later in the Mike Fiers trade.
Shore, a former second-round pick out of the University of Florida, registered an underwhelming 4.45 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 74/21 K/BB ratio in 91 innings (17 starts) this season between High-A Stockton and Double-A Midland. He turns 24 years old in December.
