The Brewers have added president of baseball operations to general manager Matt Arnold’s job title.
Arnold keeping the GM title suggests the Brewers won’t be bringing in a new No. 2. Arnold took over as the Brewers’ GM five years ago and moved into the lead role after POBO David Stearns stepped down three years ago. Giving him the POBO title makes it easier for the Brewers to say no to an interview if another team comes sniffing around, and he pretty obviously deserves it anyway.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has proposed $290 million in the state’s upcoming budget to fund maintenance and upgrades to American Family Field over the next two decades.
The funding is part of a plan that would require the Brewers to extend their lease in Milwaukee through 2043. The club’s current lease runs through 2030 and also includes a series of five two-year club options through 2040. The new proposal, which closes a funding gap between the stadium district’s reserve fund and expected costs, would extend the lease through 2043.
