Mariners LHP prospect Misael Siverio got back in the win column with a six-inning effort Saturday for Double-A Jackson.
It was his first win since July 3. He allowed four walks and one hit. Siverio is tied for tenth in the Southern League with 105 strikeouts, though he’s also tied for seventh in walks (50 free passes in 119 innings). The left-hander will finish August with a 3.00 ERA. That’s much better than the disappointing 5.16 ERA he posted in five starts last month.

Mariners signed LHP Misael Siverio to a minor league contract.
A Cuban defector, Siverio pitched in Mexico this past season, posting a 2.45 ERA and 36/10 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings. FanGraphs’s Kiley McDaniel says the lefty will get a split contract that pays him a $275,000 bonus in addition to $120,000 in the minors and $508,000 if he reaches the majors. It’s a depth addition for the Mariners.
