A’s reliever Evan Scriber has a torn right lat muscle and will miss the final month of the season, the team announced.
Scribner has served up way too many homers this year, but his 64/4 K/BB ratio in 60 innings is extremely impressive and the 29-year-old right-hander has a 4.21 ERA in 148 career innings as a big leaguer.
Assuming he makes a full recovery Scribner figures to fill a middle relief role for the A’s in 2016.
