Update (8:38 PM EDT): Mike Moustakas made it 2-0 when he lined a home run over the fence in right-center field with one out in the bottom of the second inning. The home run was reviewed as a fan reached over the fence to catch it, but the initial ruling was upheld.
Playing in a potential clincher in ALCS Game 6, Royals second baseman Ben Zobrist gave his team an early lead when he swatted a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning against Blue Jays starter David Price. It’s Zobrist’s second homer this post-season, with his other coming in the first inning of the Royals’ Game 4 win against the Jays.
Royals starter Yordano Ventura has tossed two scoreless innings, with a leadoff double by Ben Revere serving as the only blemish on his record.
If the Royals can maintain the lead, they’ll earn the right to play the Mets in the World Series.
