Blue Jays’ deal with Ronald Belisario “has fallen though”

Ronald Belisario

Thursday the Blue Jays were said to be signing veteran reliever Ronald Belisario to a minor-league contract worth $1.7 million if he made the Opening Day roster, but now the team’s radio announcer, Mike Wilner, reports that the deal “has fallen through.”

According to Wilner the Blue Jays “won’t be signing” Belisario, who posted an ugly 5.56 ERA last season for the White Sox but was previously a solid middle reliever for the Dodgers.

Belisario, who turned 32 years old last month, has a 3.75 ERA in 331 career innings.
