UPDATE: Tigers place Carlos Guillen on the disabled list

UPDATE: Despite the good news covered below, the Tigers have placed Carlos Guillen on the disabled list with a bruised knee and recalled Will Rhymes from Triple-A. === Carlos Guillen was out of last night’s lineup after injuring his knee turning a game-ending double play Monday against the Yankees, but Jason Beck of MLB.com reports that an MRI exam “revealed no structural or ligament damage.” Guillen, who’s now officially listed as day-to-day with a sore knee, indicated that watching replays of the DP convinced him that Brett Gardner’s slide wasn’t quite as “clean” as he initially believed. “I saw a replay when I got home and it looked different,” Guillen said. “He knows.”
