The Mariners announced Thursday that they signed reliever Mark Lowe to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Lowe began his career with Seattle and had his best season with the club in 2009, posting a 3.26 ERA across 75 appearances. The 31-year-old right-hander was dealt to Texas a year later in the Cliff Lee deal and had a 3.92 ERA over 92 appearances with the club before bouncing around the past couple of years. He made seven appearances with the Indians this past season and had a 5.62 ERA over 41 appearances in Triple-A.

In addition to Lowe, the Mariners have given camp invites to right-hander Justin Germano and infielder Carlos Rivero.
