Twins rookie slugger Miguel Sano hit another mammoth blast tonight against the Rays. The only problem is that the catwalk at Tropicana Field got in the way.

With a runner on and two outs against Drew Smyly in the top of the third inning, Sano hit a towering fly ball to left-center field which appeared destined to land for a two-run home run. However, the ball bounced off the B-ring catwalk and landed behind second base in shallow center field. Per the ground rules, Sano was awarded a double. That’s no fun at all.

You can watch the play here. Per MLB Gameday, the ball left Sano’s bat at 111 mph and was estimated to travel 409 feet. That feels little a little low.
