Nats catcher Wilson Ramos out a week for LASIK surgery

Wilson Ramos Getty

Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos will miss at least a week of spring training because of Lasik surgery. He flew up to Washington to have it after his annual physical revealed that he needed it.

Not a big deal of course, but it did lead to a great line from Dusty Baker: “He’ll will be able to hit now.” Sick burn. Man, we didn’t realize how much we missed Dusty, but we did.

Ramos hit .229/.258/.358 last year, so in addition to the LASIK he may need Captain America’s Super Soldier procedure or perhaps a concentrated burst of gamma rays in order to actually hit.
