A recent poll by Public Policy Polling found that Philadelphians, by a 46 to 40 margin, would elect the Phillie Phanatic as President of the United States over Donald Trump. 14 percent weren’t sure.

The Phanatic has been known to put a curse on the opposing team, shoot hot dogs from a pneumatic gun, and travel via an all-terrain vehicle.

Cubs catcher David Ross went out of his way to have his picture taken with the Phanatic on Tuesday. Teammate Anthony Rizzo, who accompanied Ross as he checked other items off of his bucket list, said of the Phillies’ mascot, “He makes fun of both sides and doesn’t discriminate against anybody.”

There is one hang-up, though: the Phanatic hails from the Galapagos Islands and would therefore be ineligible to run for the office.
