It’s officially time to worry about Tommy Hanson.

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Hanson was scratched from his scheduled bullpen session this evening due to lingering shoulder soreness. The young right-hander threw just nine pitches in an abbreviated bullpen session yesterday, but insisted that his shoulder was fine. Apparently not.

Hanson has served two stints on the disabled list this season due to shoulder soreness. He will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis for now, but the Braves have cancelled plans for a rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Gwinnett.

Mike Minor will continue to take his place in the starting rotation for now and Julio Teheran and Randall Delgado represent alternatives in September if Hanson requires a lengthier absence. It’s a good thing Frank Wren didn’t include any of his promising arms in the deal for Michael Bourn, because the Braves may need them.
