If you miss watching live baseball, consider checking out the Fall Stars Game in the Arizona Fall League this evening. The game begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on MLB Network and MLB.com.
The Fall Stars Game is an annual showcase for some of the game’s top prospects. Last year’s game featured the likes of Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor and Dodgers infielder Corey Seager. In other words, we regularly see these players graduate to the majors in a hurry.
This year’s game lacks the truly elite prospects, but there are still some names to keep an eye on. Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar should be familiar to most of you. He’s trying to get back on track after missing the past two seasons with a shoulder injury. Athletics prospect Sean Manaea, who came over from the Royals in the Ben Zobrist deal this July, will make the start for the East team. Cardinals prospect right-hander Alex Reyes was originally scheduled to start for the West team, which would have been quite the treat, but he’s been shut down. Now Braves prospect right-hander Lucas Sims will start in his place. Neither starter is expected to throw more than a couple of innings.
