The Yankees acquired Twins’ left-hander Jaime Garcia and cash considerations in exchange for minor league right-hander Zack Littell and left-hander Dietrich Enns, the teams announced Sunday. It’s the second trade involving Garcia this month, who was sent from the Braves to the Twins in a trade for right-handed prospect Huascar Ynoa last Monday.

Garcia, 31, is 5-7 in 19 starts for the Braves and Twins this season, toting a 4.29 ERA, 4.1 BB/9 and 9.5 SO/9 through 119 2/3 innings. Between the two trades, he made one start for Minnesota on Friday, going 6 2/3 innings with three runs, three walks and seven strikeouts in a winning effort. While he’s expected to slot into a Yankees’ rotation that already features fellow left-handers CC Sabathia, Jordan Montgomery and Caleb Smith, Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan reports that the club is still planning to acquire another starter by the deadline, and could pursue Oakland ace Sonny Gray to flesh out their six-man rotation.

Littell, 21, was last seen at Double-A Trenton, where he pitched to a pristine 2.05 ERA, 1.6 Bb/9 and 10.6 SO/9 over his first 44 innings. He was scratched from his last start in advance of the trade and is expected to report to the Twins’ Double-A Chattanooga.

Enns, 26, is a little higher on the minor league ladder. He was working through his second Triple-A stint prior to the trade, and went 1-1 in seven starts with a 2.29 ERA, 2.3 BB/9 and 8.5 SO/9 through 39 1/3 innings. The Twins added Enns to the 40-man roster on Sunday and will assign him to Triple-A Rochester.
