Orioles acquired INFs Victor Figueroa, Brandon Butterworth and Cobb Hightower, RHPs Tanner Smith and Tyson Neighbors and LHP Boston Bateman from the Padres for 1B/DH Ryan O’Hearn and OF Ramon Laureano.
Figueroa was the Padres’ 18th round pick from the 2024 draft class. His minor league career has gotten off to a blistering start, slashing .318/.420/.588 with 12 homers, 47 RBI and five stolen bases in 276 plate appearances, mostly at Single-A Lake Elsinore. The O’s may think he’s already ready for a jump up to High-A.
