Roush Fenway Racing signs Ty Majeski as development driver

Ty Majeski and Roush Fenway Racing are hoping history repeats.

Roush Fenway announced Monday it has signed Majeski, 21, to a driver development deal similar to the one that involved 2015 Xfinity Series champion Chris Buescher.

Majeski, a native of Seymour, Wisconsin, will drive in select ARCA races for Roulo Bros. Racing. That is the same team Buescher competed for in 57 ARCA races.

Majeski is a third-year student at the University of Wisconsin, majoring in mechanical engineering. He has two championships in the ARCA Midwest Tour Championships.

“We are truly excited about having Ty on board,” said Roush Fenway President Steve Newmark in a press release. “He is an exceptional young man that has excelled on and off the track, as evidenced by his considerable racing accomplishments, as well as his career in the classroom as an engineering student. We feel that there is a very high ceiling for what Ty can accomplish, and we look forward to watching him progress in his career and hopefully playing a major role in that development.”

In 2015, Majeski earned 19 wins in 59 Late Model starts. He also started on the pole of the Snowball Derby before finishing third. The Wisconsin native also was one of seven drivers to compete in the first class of Kulwicki Driver Development Program.

“I am really excited to get this next step started,” Majeski said in a press release. “It’s an honor to be associated with one of NASCAR’s most successful owners, Jack Roush.”
