The Hornets took Iowa shooting guard Adam Haluska with the 43rd pick in Thursday’s draft.
He was not at the Orlando pre-draft camp and was a surprise to even be selected in the draft. Don’t expect him to be in the league a year from now.

Adam Haluska, a second-round pick out of Iowa, was nearly perfect on Monday, hitting 7-of-8 shots and going 3-of-3 from downtown for 20 points in the loss.
He was just 3-of-6 from the line, but is somehow averaging 16 ppg in the preseason. With Peja Stojakovic’s status uncertain, it’s possible that Haluska could play well in the regular season as well. But it’s unlikely.

The Rockets waived G Adam Haluska on Sunday.
He was acquired from the Hornets, along with Bobby Jackson, in exchange for Bonzi Well and Mike James, but has been told not to report to the team. He may or may not end up landing with another team this season.
  • MIN Shooting Guard
The Rockets on Wednesday agreed to send guards Bonzi Wells and Mike James to the Hornets for guard Bobby Jackson.
The deal is still pending league approval and it sounds like the Rockets will also get Adam Haluska from the Hornets and a conditional second-round pick, while the Memphis Grizzlies will receive the rights to Marcus Vinicius to make the deal work financially. The big news here is that Bonzi appears to be an obvious choice to replace struggling shooting guard Morris Peterson in New Orleans. It’s not guaranteed to happen, but we’re recommending that Wells be scooped up in most instances. Jackson is slated to back up starting point guard Rafer Alston in Houston.

Hornets rookie shooting guard Adam Haluska could be sidelined for two months with a severely sprained ankle.
He suffered the injury in Tuesday’s practice and it’s believed that he’ll be out a minimum of six weeks. “I saw when he went down and it didn’t look good,’' coach Byron Scott said. “I think he’s going to be out for a little while.’' This should have no fantasy impact as Haluska wasn’t getting many minutes.
  • MIN Shooting Guard
The Rockets traded Bonzi Wells and Mike James to the Hornets for Bobby Jackson and Adam Haluska on Thursday.
The Grizzlies were also involved, netting Marcus Vinicius, cash and the draft rights to Malick Badiane in exchange for the draft rights to Sergei Lishchuk. As you can guess, none of those guys will have fantasy value. Wells could end up starting at shooting guard for the Hornets, James will help back up Chris Paul and Jackson will back up Rafer Alston in Houston.

The Mavericks have waived guards Adam Haluska and Dee Brown.
That means both Brian Cardinal and Steve Novak made the team.

Guard Adam Haluska has signed on with the Mavericks for training camp.
He’s a long shot to make the team and formerly played for the Hornets before being traded to the Rockets, where he never officially joined the team.
