Cleveland will spend most of the year playing for the Mavs G-League affiliate, rendering him useless in fantasy hoops.

Cleveland was signed to a multi-year deal by the Atlanta Hawks last season but was later waived and claimed by the Bulls. Only played 1.5 minutes in the preseason, but had a 42.9 usage rate without any makes. He may head overseas or to the G League.

It’s likely a training camp deal or a two-way contract, but the undrafted guard out of Southeast Missouri State has basically no shot of cracking the 15-man roster. Expect Cleveland to end up in the G-League.

Cleveland is on a 10-day deal with the Hawks, but he’s running out of time to make an impression with the Atlanta franchise. It’s extremely unlikely he’ll establish himself as a factor in fantasy hoops this season.

This is surprising, as Cleveland was listed as doubtful on the injury report released Monday. He hasn’t played since late December. However, he will likely see only limited minutes off the bench and should be left on waivers.
