Tyrus Thomas (elbow) did not practice again on Thursday.
He should be considered extremely questionable to play on Friday. He hasn’t practiced in two days and did not play on Wednesday due to the injury. D.J. White started in Thomas’ place and had 14 points, five rebounds and two assists.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Tyrus Thomas (right elbow bursitis) remains questionable for Wednesday’s game.
Even if Thomas suits up he may not get a full complement of minutes, which moves him from shaky to untenable in fantasy leagues. D.J. White figures to be the main beneficiary if Thomas is out or limited.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Tyrus Thomas will miss Wednesday’s game due to bursitis in his right elbow.
The red-hot Byron Mullens was slated to get the start at power forward in the lineup that was submitted, but D.J. White actually started the game.
  • PHI Power Forward #30
Byron Mullens played just 12 minutes, failed to score and grabbed just two rebounds in Wednesday’s loss.
He was slated to start for Tyrus Thomas (elbow), but was replaced by D.J. White at the last minute. Mullens wasn’t injured, but he and Bismack Biyombo were simply dominated by Kevin Love tonight. Mullens should be able to bounce back from this, but is going to have good nights along with bad ones as long as he’s coming off the bench. If he starts at PF at some point, he could quickly become a must-own player, especially with the Bobcats finishing with a 4-5-4 weekly schedule over the next three weeks.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White started in place of Tyrus Thomas (elbow bursitis) and had 14 points, five rebounds and a block in 32 minutes.
His strong play appeared to limit both Bismack Biyombo and Byron Mullens, but Mullens is still a better fantasy option if you’re desperate for a big man. Just keep an eye on White in case he continues to start.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White played through a thumb injury on Friday, scoring eight points on 4-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes.
With the Bobcats in disarray, the only reason White is getting a blurb is to notate his thumb injury, which probably won’t be a problem going forward. Until things normalize, nobody on the Bobcats’ bench other than Kemba Walker will be worth fantasy consideration in most formats.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White was knocked out of Friday’s game after taking an elbow to the head and will not return.
White scored two points on 1-of-4 shooting with one rebound in nine minutes, and though he has gotten some recent run he has no value in fantasy leagues. He may be subject to the league’s concussion protocol.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White will start in place of Boris Diaw at power forward Tuesday.
News broke Tuesday afternoon that Diaw has asked for a trade or a buyout from the Bobcats. They’ve responded by removing him from the starting lineup and it’s unclear if he’ll play at all. White has started seven times this year, averaging 11.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in those games. He’s ahead of Tyrus Thomas -- who is also a trade candidate -- on the depth chart.
  • CHA Power Forward #8
D.J. White started in place of Boris Diaw, who has requested to be traded or bought out by the Bobcats, and had eight points and zero rebounds in Tuesday’s win.
White is worth keeping an eye on and should be better than this if he continues to start. He played well over stretches earlier in the season, but make sure he continues to start before pulling the trigger on him.
  • SAS Power Forward #33
Boris Diaw, who has asked to be traded or bought out by the Bobcats, didn’t play in Tuesday’s win over the Magic due to a coaching decision.
That snapped a 384 games-played streak, which was second longest in the NBA behind only Derek Fisher. The Bobcats want to develop their younger players anyway, so it will be interesting to see if the benching of Diaw is permanent. If so, he’s likely played his last game for the Bobcats. D.J. White started in his place, but had just eight points and zero rebounds.
