After a stretch playing in the Chinese Basketball Association, Gani Lawal is returning to play for Zastal in Poland.
Lawal played for Zastal during the lockout. The former second-round pick was waived by the Spurs prior to the start of the season.

The Spurs signed F Gani Lawal and Guard Antoine Hood Monday, and waived guard Devin Gibson.
Lawal has a shot at making the team, but we’re not expecting much from Hood.

Lawal wasn’t expected to make the team, and the Spurs made it official on Thursday.
  • PHI Power Forward #42
Gani Lawal will replace Kenyon Martin with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in China, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Lawal was recently waived by the Spurs and never had a shot at fantasy value.
  • PHI Power Forward #42
The Suns waived Gani Lawal on Friday.
Lawal’s contract was unguaranteed, and this was an easy decision given the Suns’ depth at PF -- Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick and rookie Markieff Morris. He played two minutes in his entire Suns career.

Former NBA big man Gani Lawal has agreed to a deal with Virtus Roma in Italy.
Lawal has exactly two minutes of NBA experience, after making a one-game cameo with the Suns in 2010-11.

The agent for Gani Lawal reports the Knicks are “interested” in his client.
The Knicks will reportedly work him out after he finishes his season abroad in the Italian league with Virtus Roma. Lawal tore his ACL back in 2011, and he’s been fighting to return to the NBA since. Now 24 years old, Lawal has three workouts confirmed: Orlando, Indiana and Toronto. Lawal is averaging 13.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in Europe.
  • PHI Power Forward #42
The Sixers signed a one-year, partially guaranteed deal with big man Gani Lawal.
If Lawal could crack any NBA roster it would be the Sixers, and we’ll watch to see if this is in any way related to Royce White not flying to Europe. Chances are this is your everyday camp signing.
  • PHI Power Forward #42
Forward Gani Lawal is pulling out of the NBA Draft and will return to Georgia Tech for his junior season, according to Hoopsworld.com.
Lawal’s stock had been on the rise, and he was almost guaranteed to be selected in the first round, but this is great news for the Yellow Jackets. Lawal now looks like a lock to be a lottery pick, and possibly a Top 5 selection, a year from now.
  • PHI Power Forward #19
Sixers waive F Rodney Williams and F Gani Lawal.
The interesting bit is that the Sixers are now at 14 on their roster. Plus, if they buyout Kwame Brown, they’re going to have two open spots. There are a lot of free agents out there that could be better than the guys on the Sixers, so deep-league owners will want to keep their eyes peeled.
