Keyon Dooling won the Clippers’ starting point guard job over Marko Jaric.
Dooling has only started two games in his career, but coach Mike Dunleavy liked the way he and shooting guard Quentin Richardson played together. The final spot in the Clipper lineup will go to either rookie Chris Kaman or Predrag Drobnjak at center.

Keyon Dooling is close to being activated, but coach Dennis Johnson said he would like Dooling to get in some practices to regain his timing and conditioning.
Dooling has been out since Feb. 19 with a strained left arch and soreness in his left ankle.

Keyon Dooling and Quentin Richardson fought at practice yesterday and had to be pulled apart.
There was a 20-minute disruption as the team tried to restore order. Richardson said his bruised hand did not get re-injured during the scrum.

The Bulls and Clippers have continued trade talks as the Bulls search for a backup point guard to Kirk Hinrich.
The latest version of the deal has Marcus Fizer headed to Los Angeles for Keyon Dooling and a salary throw-in, probably Melvin Ely or Bobby Simmons. Dooling hasn’t played since Jan. 19, partly because of a sprained ankle. He was the No. 10 pick in the 2000 draft. The rumor also indicates that the Bulls have either given up on Jamal Crawford as a point guard, or don’t plan on having him around much longer.

Clippers placed guard Keyon Dooling on the injured list with a sprained left arch.
Dooling had already missed four games with the injury.

The Heat may be interested in re-acquiring Keyon Dooling from the Magic.
The Magic have a lot of depth at point guard and could be interested in moving Dooling, and the Heat are said to be interested. Dooling could also fill in at shooting guard for the Heat, as it’s still uncertain whether Shandon or Derek Anderson will return to the team.

Danny Ainge said that Mickael Pietrus (head) is improving, but there remains no timetable for his return.
Pietrus is out indefinitely after a scary fall that had him carted off on a stretcher. The swingman is still suffering from concussion symptoms at this time, and baseline testing can’t start until he’s symptom-free. Avery Bradley and Keyon Dooling will both likely continue to see increased time with Pietrus sidelined.

Rajon Rondo has been suspended for Tuesday’s Game 2 against the Hawks.
It’s a well-deserved ban after Rondo clearly lost his cool and bumped official Marc Davis while arguing a call late in Game 1. Additionally, Rondo also has a history here as he got a two-game ban for throwing a ball at ref in late February. With Ray Allen (ankle) looking doubtful, the Celtics’ backcourt will feature Avery Bradley, Mickael Pietrus and Keyon Dooling Tuesday. Rondo will be back for Game 3.

Rajon Rondo was ejected during the final minute of Game 1 on Sunday after disagreeing with a call and bumping a referee.
Uh oh. Even mild contact with a referee typically results in at least a one-game suspension -- on March 9th, for instance, Hedo Turkoglu was suspended for relatively innocuous contact with a ref. We’ll check for updates but this could be disastrous for the Celtics, already facing an 0-1 hole. He was playing well, too, scoring 20 points on 10-of-18 FGs, with 10 assists and four steals. Keyon Dooling is Boston’s uninspiring backup PG.

Rajon Rondo (back) hasn’t attempted to practice in a week.
“It’s sore a little bit,” he said. “It will be sore for a while, I’m sure.” Rondo is considered questionable to play on Tuesday against the Heat, so owners should check back for an update following shootaround on Tuesday morning. It’s important to remember that Rondo won’t be rushed back with Boston’s postseason matchup already set against Atlanta.
