Draymond Green, to the chagrin of many, has not been suspended for his wild plays during the playoffs.
But that doesn’t mean the NBA is asleep at the wheel.
The league suspended Bismack Biyombo for the first game of next season. The Raptors center committed three flagrant fouls – two flagrant 1s and a flagrant 2 assigned after the fact. Because the suspension-inducing one came in Toronto’s elimination game, Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals, Biyombo will serve the suspension next year.
Biyombo is in line to get a substantial raise this summer. I doubt any teams considering signing him will be overly concerned about next season’s opener.
The suspension will cost Biyombo 1/110 of his presumably higher 2016-17 salary.
