There was a lot of mystery around Kristaps Porzingis coming into the draft. Fans knew little. Scouts liked him — some loved his game — but he’s very raw and there were concerns he could be another European bust.
After watching him in Las Vegas (like in these highlights), those fears should be gone. There’s a lot to like — he was one of our stand-out players from Vegas. He averaged just more than 10 touches a game but was efficient with them, scoring 1.024 points per possession. Porzingis showed a high basketball IQ, impressive passing skills, he can shoot the three but more importantly showed off an ability to get inside and make plays off the bounce as well. He’s a couple years away still, but there is a good foundation.
Check out his highlights. The kid can play.
