When watching Eric Bledsoe dribble down the clock with the game tied before taking the final shot, I kept thinking that he was waiting to long, and that he needed to initiate the play sooner than he actually decided to.

I had no idea, obviously, that Bledsoe had no intention of driving to the basket.

Gordon Hayward was playing Bledsoe for the drive, but with so much space, Bledsoe wisely decided to calmly pull up for the three-pointer, which he splashed home with 0.7 seconds remaining to send the Suns to 2-0 on this very young season.

Bledsoe had scored only one point through the first three quarters, shooting 0-for-6 from the field in just under 17 minutes. But he exploded for 17 points in 11 fourth quarter minutes, including the game-winning shot.

It’s only been two games in Phoenix, but so far, Bledsoe is doing his best to make the Suns regret not coming to terms with him on a contract extension before this week’s deadline passed.
