Klay Thompson ties NBA record by making first 10 3-pointers in game (video)

Remember when Klay Thompson began the season in such a prolonged slump, people seriously worried about him?

The Warriors guard can still heat up in a hurry.

Thompson made his first 10 3-pointers in Golden State’s win over the Lakers last night, tying an NBA record for consecutive 3s made to begin a game.

ESPN:

According to Elias Sports Bureau research, Ty Lawson is the most recent player to make his first 10 3-pointers of a game (April 9, 2011)

Thompson missed his 11th attempt, which cost him the record for most 3-pointers without a miss in a game. Ben Gordon (twice!) and Latrell Sprewell have gone 9-for-9 from beyond the arc in a game.

Still, Thompson finished with 44 points on 10-of-11 3-point shooting and 6-of-9 2-point shooting in 27 minutes. It’s the type of performance that ought to put to rest any lingering concern.

Thompson gets hotter than nearly anyone else in the league. He obviously can’t do this every game, or he’d be the greatest player of all-time. But these supernova games are becoming common enough to know Thompson still has it.
