Michael Jordan says he’s ‘pretty sure’ he can beat Hornets players one-on-one

Michael Jordan is in Paris at the moment as part of the contingent representing Jordan Brand at their Quai 54 streetball tournament. He’s giving interviews, and evidently, even at age 52, is still feeling as confident as ever in his basketball ability.

Speaking with France’s L’Equipe, Jordan said he thinks he could beat some current members of the Hornets in a one-on-one setting -- but wouldn’t bother to try, due to not wanting to wreck their confidence.

L’Equipe: Do you think you can play against some of your guys right now? Do you sometimes do that or not? Could you win on one-on-ones against them?

Jordan: I’m pretty sure I can, so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence. So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good...but I’m too old to do that anyway.

We know Jordan can still play a little; he was seen hitting a nice step-back jumper during friendly competition not that long ago. While we won’t call out anyone in particular, a cursory glance at the Hornets roster makes it fairly easy to believe that Jordan knows what he’s talking about.
