Darko Milicic said he was leaving the NBA for good, and for the first season since the Pistons drafted him No. 2 in 2003, he didn’t play.
Just in case you were getting any ideas about a comeback, Darko is putting those though to bed.
“Goodbye NBA career, good afternoon kick-boxing!” a translated version of an NBASerbia.com headline reads (hat tip: Dan Gartlnd of Sports Illustrated).
The article says Darko will sign a contract with the World Kickboxing Association on Wednesday, when the organization will announce details about his first match. Darko, according to the piece, has been training for the last year and a half.
This isn’t the first time Darko took up another sport. He also competed in professional carp fishing.
So, between basketball, carp fishing and kickboxing, Darko is a two-sport athlete.
