With Dwyane Wade taking his talents back home to Chicago, the Miami Heat needed to add guard depth and some depth on the wing.
They added it rapid fire Sunday morning in deals to bring in solid veterans Wayne Ellington and James Johnson.

Ellington is a two guard who can knock down threes, he took 47.8 percent of his shots from three and hit 35.8 percent from three overall and 39.3 percent from the corners. He took more long twos than Erik Spoelstra will like, but he’s got a decent all around game that the Heat can lean on.
Johnson can play either forward spot and while he doesn’t space the floor with shooting he can finish inside, plus brings quality defense.
With these signings, it’s unlikely the Heat will match the Tyler Johnson offer sheet from the Nets.
