At one point, there were three NBA summer leagues – Las Vegas, Orlando and Salt Lake City.

But the Utah version – called the Rocky Mountain Revue – last occurred in 2008, when the Jazz officials who ran the league needed to invite a D-League team and the Iranian national team just to fill the schedule.

But maybe the Revue will return. Bill Oram of The Salt Lake Tribune:

Competing with Las Vegas and Orlando will be difficult, because those cities are more desirable to the league executives who travel to these games after choosing their teams’ destinations. But if the Revue is well-run and cheaper than the alternatives, perhaps it can gain some momentum.
