There are some NBA owners who also own NHL teams. Ted Leonsis owns both the Washington Wizards and Capitals; the Kronke family owns both the Nuggets and Avalanche in Denver, for example.
The Sixers ownership group led by Joshua Harris would like to join the club.
They are looking to buy the New Jersey Devils, reports CSNWashington.com’s John Gonzalez.
The Devils are worth $205 million according to Forbes Magazine. The same publications estimates Harris’ value at $2.1 billion. I’m no financial wizard, but I guess he can probably afford the deal.
The owner of the Devils also owns the Prudential Center in Newark and reportedly in debt there as well. That is the building where the Nets played after leaving the Meadowlands and before moving to Brooklyn.
