First-round pick Viktor Khryapa is out for the season after having surgery in which four screws were inserted to his left foot Wednesday.
Khryapa hurt the foot July 16 while making his Blazers debut at the Rocky Mountain Revue. He wasn’t expected to have much of a role this season, but the injury also hurts his chances of making an impact in 2005-06.

Blazers activated forward Viktor Khryapa from the IL tonight.
We thought he was out for the season, but he played tonight, hitting a three in his 12 minutes of action. He has no fantasy value.

Viktor Khryapa hit 9-of-10 shots and finished tonight’s game with 21 points, seven assists and three boards in tonight’s loss.
We don’t have any faith in him from a fantasy standpoint, especially with Darius Miles returning to action tonight.

Viktor Khryapa had 13 points and five rebounds in 18 minutes tonight.
He all six of his shots and will continue to get solid minutes as long as Theo Ratliff is sitting.

Viktor Khryapa entered Wednesday’s game in the first quarter and played meaningful minutes for the second consecutive game. He scored 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting in 15 minutes on Tuesday.
“Viktor’s a versatile player,” coach Jim Boylan said of the rarely used forward. “He can play-make, he can shoot, he’s got some good size, he’s got some good experience from his international play. We’ll continue to look at him and see if he can help.’' Once Luol Deng returns, Andres Nocioni should shift back to a bench role, and Khryapa will continue to struggle for playing time. He should only be considered in super-deep leagues.

The Bulls bought out the contract of Viktor Khryapa on Wednesday. The seldom-used forward returned to Russia, where he is expected to play professionally.
Khryapa was acquired from the Trail Blazers in a draft-day swap of LaMarcus Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas.
