Dolphins RB De’Von Achane did not report to voluntary OTAs.
Achane is in the final year of his rookie contract and is undoubtedly looking for a major extension. Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley alluded to that when he told reporters that it’s “part of the business” when asked about Achane not showing. We wouldn’t be surprised if Achane’s absence (until mandatory sessions) is a theme going forward pending a new contract.
  • MIA Quarterback #2
Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said the team will build around QB Malik Willis.
Sullivan said signing Willis, formerly of the Packers, to a three-year contract “was very important to us” so the team could methodically build a contending roster through the draft. “I’m very comfortable with Malik and his ability to play with what’s around him,” Sullivan told ESPN’s Kevin Clark. The implication is that Willis will not be judged too harshly if he struggles in 2026 on a rebuilding Miami team that recently parted ways with star wideouts Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. NFL Network reported in late March that the Dolphins plan to add a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, a move that would question just how patient the team will be with Willis.
  • MIA Tight End #85
Speaking on This is Football with Kevin Clark, Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said he thinks Greg Dulcich “had a really good back-end of the (2025) season and I want to see if he can build on that.”
Sullivan said the main reason for bringing Dulcich back stems from his late-season performance when the fourth-year tight end went for 26-335-1 over the final 10 weeks of the season. Dulcich showed some flashes early in his career, catching 33 passes for 411 yards and two scores as a rookie with the Broncos. He only caught eight passes with the Broncos over the following two seasons, but Dulcich entered the league with good pass-catching prowess. He hauled in 68 passes over his final two seasons at UCLA while averaging an insane 18.3 yards per reception. Dulcich has played almost 50 percent of his snaps from the slot since entering the league, and could see more work in the slot this season in a revamped Dolphins offense. This isn’t the first time this offseason Dulcich has received early hype. ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques said back in March that he believes Dulcich “should figure heavily” into the Dolphins’ passing game.
  • FA Quarterback #11
The Athletic’s Nate Atkins reports free agent QB Jimmy Garoppolo is “weighing a few options.”
Garoppolo was linked to the Dolphins and Cardinals in early March, but both teams have brought new quarterbacks aboard since then. Per Atkins, the Rams’ “sights for a backup” have refocused on Garoppolo, now that the Raiders have signed QB Kirk Cousins. The Rams would reportedly “really would like an experienced former starter in that role.” Garoppolo spent the last two seasons in said role and turns 35 in November.
  • FA Quarterback
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports QB Ty Simpson will make top-30 visits with the Browns, Cardinals, and Dolphins.
Simpson, whose draft stock is rising daily, will almost assuredly go in the first round of the 2026 draft after throwing for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and five interceptions over 15 games in 2025 as Alabama’s starting QB. Miami would be a strange landing spot for Simpson considering the team just signed Malik Willis to a significant contract that would imply he is locked in as the team’s Week 1 starter. Arizona seems to be an increasingly likely landing spot for Simpson considering Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett are the only two quarterbacks on the roster at the moment. Simpson is likely to be the second QB off the draft board after Fernando Mendoza.
  • MIA Running Back #28
Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan said De’Von Achane is one of “three pillars” on the team’s roster.
The other two that Sullivan named were LB Jordyn Brooks and OG Aaron Brewer. Sullivan said that he hopes to secure extensions for all three players in the future, and called Achane a “priority” deal he hopes to get done. This should lay to rest any trade talk surrounding Achane, who was rumored to be available despite the team denying any interest in dealing him. The Dolphins are in a complete rebuild mode after taking on more than $170 million in dead cap this season to part ways with key players from the previous staff. Achane, who totaled 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns last season, will be a key player in Bobby Slowk’s offense next season, and at only 24 years old, will be well worth the extension he has coming his way as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
  • MIA Quarterback #2
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe said Malik Willis is the Dolphins’ starting quarterback, but Miami does “plan” to add “long-term” competition via the 2026 NFL Draft.
It sounds like Wolfe believes the Dolphins will draft a developmental quarterback prospect to potentially compete with Willis after the 2026 season. The Dolphins are said to be all in on Willis this season and view him as a potential long-term starter. Perhaps tellingly, Wolfe refers to this year as “the rebuild.” Rolling the dice on a dual-threat quarterback while developing an intriguing prospect makes sense. If Willis pans out, great. If not, the Dolphins will already have another option in the works.
  • MIA Linebacker
Dolphins signed LB Ronnie Harrison, formerly of the Falcons.
Harrison spent last season with the Falcons and started four of the 10 games he appeared. The veteran linebacker totaled 29 tackles, two sacks, and two pass breakups, and has 52 games of starting experience under his belt. Harrison will likely serve as added depth for Jeff Hafley’s defense and can provide some much-needed veteran leadership for a rebuilding Dolphins franchise.
  • NO Quarterback #0
Saints signed QB Zach Wilson, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
Wilson spent last season with the Dolphins, attempting 11 passes as the backup to both Tua Tagovailoa and Quinn Ewers. He joins a quarterback room that is likely to start Tyler Shough with Spencer Rattler in the mix as backup. Wilson is only a month older than Shough, but will be the “journeyman” presence heading into training camp. The former Jets first-rounder is only worth rostering in the deepest of Superflex leagues if injuries give him a starting chance.
  • MIA Linebacker #20
Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris reports that the Cowboys are discussing potential trades for Dolphins LB Jordyn Brooks and Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair.
Harris isn’t the only reporter who believes that the Cowboys are still on the hunt for new defenders. In a report from earlier today, ESPN’s Todd Archer mentions Brooks and Al-Shaair as well, while also bringing up Steelers LB Patrick Queen as a possibility. Harris disagrees on the latter player, saying on social media that the Cowboys have “pivoted off Queen,” though he believes the inside linebacker position “gets addressed in the trade market.” In a mock draft published today, Harris links LSU CB Mansoor Delane to the Cowboys at pick No. 12 and Clemson EDGE T.J. Parker at pick No. 20. Brooks totaled 125 solo tackles and 19 TFLs. Al-Shaair totaled 74 solo tackles and five TFLs. Stay tuned.
