Seahawks hired Austin Davis as an offensive assistant.
The Seahawks also hired Brad Idzik as an assistant wide receivers coach while promoting offensive assistant Steve Shimko to assistant QBs coach. The former quarterback spent parts of two seasons with the Seahawks as a backup to Russell Wilson. Davis turns 30 in June.
  • Quarterback
    Titans waived QB Austin Davis.
Davis didn’t play a single snap for the Titans but was active twice during the year with both Marcus Mariota and Blaine Gabbert battling injuries. He hasn’t thrown a pass since 2015. He’ll likely catch on as a 29-year-old journeyman veteran elsewhere this offseason.
  • Quarterback
    Titans signed QB Austin Davis.
It speaks to at least some degree of uncertainty over Marcus Mariota’s (stinger) Week 17 status. Davis backed up Blaine Gabbert when Mariota was injured earlier this season. Gabbert starting in the Titans’ win-or-go-home primetime matchup with the Colts would be a disaster for everybody.
  • Quarterback
    Titans released QB Austin Davis.
With Blaine Gabbert back to full health, the Titans no longer need an insurance policy at quarterback.
  • Quarterback
    Titans signed QB Austin Davis.
The ex-Seahawks backup will serve as a (bad) insurance policy in case Blaine Gabbert (concussion) cannot go behind Marcus Mariota (elbow) against the Eagles.
  • Quarterback
Undrafted rookie QB Austin Davis “has been nothing short of precocious in his first NFL training camp,” according to the Rams official website.
Through three preseason games, the former Southern Miss star is 21-of-30 (70 percent) for 207 yards (6.9 YPA). Coach Jeff Fisher confirms Davis has picked up the offense quickly and “done a great job.” With the release of Kellen Clemens, Davis will enter the season as Sam Bradford’s backup.
  • FA Quarterback
Coach Jeff Fisher said if the Rams re-sign free agent QB Kellen Clemens, he’d be the third quarterback behind Austin Davis.
That likely means Clemens won’t be returning to the Rams. Davis was signed as an undrafted free agent last season out of Southern Miss. He impressed many with his preseason work when he completed 22-of-34 passes for 220 yards.
  • Quarterback
Rams waived QB Austin Davis, WR Emory Blake, and S Cody Davis.
    C. Davis was St. Louis’ highest priority among UDFAs, receiving the club’s biggest undrafted signing bonus. They’d likely want to keep him around on the practice squad. A. Davis was beaten out for backup duties by Kellen Clemens.
  • Quarterback
    Broncos signed QB Austin Davis.
Davis, a 27-year-old journeyman, will “mentor” Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. The odds are against him making it all 17 weeks on the 53-man roster.

ESPN’s Todd Archer reports the Cowboys will not sign free agent QB Austin Davis.
The Cowboys are looking for an experienced quarterback to backup Dak Prescott while Tony Romo (back) is out, but Davis apparently will not be the guy. Dallas could look to the wire after final cuts, or they could attempt to trade for a lower-tier backup like the Chiefs’ Aaron Murray. Jameill Showers is the Cowboys’ only other healthy quarterback on the roster.
