  • The Raiders will keep center Barret Robbins at a reduced salary in 2004.
Robbins, thankful for the team’s understanding when he was battling depression, has a number of performance incentives. The team also signed O-Lineman Brad Badger to a mulit-year contract.
  • The NFL fined Oakland C Barret Robbins, DL Chris Cooper, and free agent DL Dana Stubblefield three game checks for testing positive for the steroid THG.

  • The Raiders released C Barret Robbins.
Robbins suffers from bipolar disorder, and will be remembered mostly for disappearing to Mexico a day before Super Bowl XXXVII. He still is talented and will likely get signed as a backup elsewhere.
  • Barret Robbins will be held without bond in Miami until his trial sometime next year on attempted murder and other charges stemming from a January brawl with police.
Robbins is out on bond and undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder, but a judge revoked that bond Friday. No trial date has been set.

Robbins’ most recent arrest was for cocaine possession. A victim of bipolar disorder and drug addiction, Robbins told a judge Friday that it’s a “relief” he’ll get to spend time behind bars. Now 37 years old, Robbins spent nine seasons in the league, all with the Raiders. He was a first-team All Pro in 2002.
