    Sam Adams’ one-year contract with the Broncos includes a base salary of $750,000 and a signing bonus of $250,000.
    Adams can earn an additional $250,000 if Denver makes it to the playoffs and wins a game. The 33-year-old will compete with Demetrin Veal to start opposite Gerard Warren with rookie Marcus Thomas coming off the bench.

    Veal was to be a free agent this coming offseason and has filled in while starter Gerard Warren has been hurt. His base salary in 2006 jumped to $1.775 million, up from his originally-scheduled $460,000.
