Broncos signed K Elliott Fry, formerly of the Jaguars.
The Broncos made the surprising move to part ways with Brandon McManus last week. McManus was a franchise staple since joining Denver in 2014 but struggled in 2022. With a new regime led by Sean Payton in town, the Broncos chose to release him. Fry only has three NFL appearances to his name and was cut by the Jags with an injury settlement during training camp last year. Denver will likely look to add completion for Fry at some point this summer.

  • Jaguars released K Elliott Fry with an injury settlement.
Fry was waived with an injury designation earlier in the week. He then reverted to Jacksonville’s injury reserve, allowing him to be released with a settlement. Details of the injury were not disclosed. Fry can now sign with another team, though he may have to wait for his next opportunity.

  • Jaguars signed K Elliott Fry, formerly of the Falcons.
The team released kicker Andrew Mevis in a corresponding move. Fry opened the 2021 season on Atlanta’s practice squad before finding his way to the Chiefs, Packers, and Bengals over a three-week stretch at the end of the season. He was only active for two games, split between the Chiefs and Bengals. With fellow journeyman kicker Ryan Santoso as his only competition in Jacksonville, Fry has a strong shot at landing a starting gig this year.

  • KC Kicker #7
Chiefs placed K Harrison Butker on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Butker tested positive for COVID. If he’s vaccinated, the new rules give him a better chance at returning for Week 16. The Chiefs currently have Elliott Fry on their practice squad. If Butker can’t clear COVID protocols before Sunday, Fry should draw the start. Fry connected on his first and only career field goal attempt with the Falcons last year.

  • Falcons released K Elliott Fry.
That leaves Younghoe Koo, everyone’s favorite fantasy kicker, as the only kicker on Atlanta’s roster. Fry played one game for the Falcons and spent the entire 2020 season on the team’s practice squad.

  • Falcons signed K Elliott Fry.
Younghoe Koo (groin) is expected to miss at least a week, leaving the Falcons without a kicker for Monday night against Green Bay. Fry should suit up for Atlanta this week. He’s a desperation kicker option for a Falcons team that isn’t likely to face much positive game script -- a critical element of kicker opportunity -- against the Packers.

  • Buccaneers claimed K Elliott Fry off waivers from the Panthers.
People are saying this is the biggest move by the Bucs all offseason. Fry will be competing with Matt Gay, who only made 77% of his field goals last season. Fry, however, hasn’t kicked in a regular season game yet and is a total question mark. Whoever wins this job may be fantasy relevant given the offense.

  • Ravens waived K Elliott Fry.
Fry landed in Baltimore five days ago as Kaare Vedvik’s replacement. Kickers who come out of Baltimore’s camp are treated like gold, as teams look to find the next Wil Lutz. Vedvik has been horrendous in Minnesota since his trade. Fry will likely draw interest, but nothing would suggest he’s any good. Fry made a 48-yarder Thursday night but flopped in Chicago earlier this summer.
  • Ravens signed K Elliott Fry.
The Ravens have arguably the league’s best kicker in Justin Tucker, so Fry’s stay in Baltimore figures to be a short one. He’ll use Thursday’s preseason finale against Washington as an audition for teams who may need a kicker. Fry was brought in to compete for the Bears’ starting job this offseason, but finished runner-up to Eddie Pineiro.
  • Bears waived K Elliott Fry.
Fry sealed his own fate by misfiring from 47 yards out in Friday night’s preseason loss to the Giants. With Fry out of the running, Eddie Pineiro will handle kicking duties for the Bears when they host the Packers on opening night.
