Lions scheduled an interview with Seahawks passing game coordinator Jake Peetz for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Peetz spent the 2022 season working under Rams head coach Sean McVay as an offensive assistant before being promoted to passing game assistant in 2023. He has served in his current role with the Seahawks since 2024. Lions executive vice president and general manager Brad Holmes spent 2003-2020 as a member of the Rams’ personnel department before accepting his current role in Detroit. Peetz is a natural fit for this job.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Seahawks are hiring Rams pass game specialist Jake Peetz as their passing game coordinator.
Peetz is a former offensive coordinator at LSU and was on the Buccaneers’ radar to fill the offensive coordinator vacated by Dave Canales, but now he’ll get a chance to work alongside newly-minted offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Peetz has spent the last two seasons working as the Rams’ pass game specialist and also has experience as a quarterbacks coach dating back to his time with the Panthers (2020) and at LSU.

CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports the Buccaneers are interviewing Rams pass game specialist Jake Peetz for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Peetz has a direct connection to Baker Mayfield, who spent five games with the Rams in 2022, throwing for 850-4-2 after getting off to an underwhelming start with the Panthers. Peetz, 40, has been around the coaching block, spending time at high-level college programs like Alabama, UCLA, and LSU while also working off-and-on in the NFL since 2012. Peetz’s only season as an offensive coordinator was in 2021 at LSU, which was a tumultuous one for the Tigers, who were still trying to find a quarterback post-Joe Burrow. He was hired by the Rams the following season and has been in his current role for the last two years. His ties to Mayfield could make him a dark horse to land the Bucs’ offensive coordinator vacancy.
