    Saints released RB Cam Akers.
Akers and Kendre Miller battled for position this preseason, and Akers ended up being the odd man out. The Saints also waived P James Burnip, WR Roderick Daniels Jr., WR Moochie Dixon, DL Jasheen Davis, DE Jeremiah Martin, DE Omari Thomas, OT Josiah Ezirimand, OT Jonathan Mendoza, TE Seth Green, OG Kyle Hergel and Tyreem Powell, and released TE Michael Jacobson and OL Mike Panasiuk.
  • GB Wide Receiver #17
Packers signed WR Sam Brown Jr.
Brown is an undrafted free agent rookie who spent two college seasons at West Virginia, two more at Houston, and his fifth and final season at Miami. While he is extremely unlikely to be relevant in re-draft formats, Packers wide receiver scouts have done a good job of finding depth players in recent seasons. He could be a name to know for deep dynasty leagues. The Packers waived DE Jeremiah Martin in a corresponding move.
  • CHI Defensive Lineman #69
Former Texas A&M junior DE Jeremiah Martin transferred to Washington.
About a week after joining the NCAA portal, Martin (6'5/262) has found his new home. Martin leaves the lone-star state for the west coast, heading all the way up to Washington. Though he signed as a four-star recruit in 2018, Martin never quite had the breakout with Texas A&M that he may have been hoping for. Martin appeared in 32 games, mostly as a special teamer and rotational player, and earned just three tackles for loss over that span. Martin will have two years of eligibility to go at Washington, though it’s unclear if he will be able to play right away due to transfer rules. Martin has a redshirt to burn, if need be.

  • CHI Defensive Lineman #69
Texas A&M junior DE Jeremiah Martin entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Martin (6'5/262) appeared in eight games for the Aggies in 2020, logging a total of 140 snaps on defense and special teams. The junior defensive end from San Bernardino, California appeared in a total of 32 games during his three seasons at Texas A&M, tallying 11 total tackles (six solo, 3.0 for loss). Martin will have up to two seasons of eligibility at his next stop.

Uncommitted three-star 2018 DE Jeremiah Martin plans on taking official visits to Colorado and Alabama.
Colorado and Alabama generally work in different recruiting spheres, but we have a crossing of the streams here with Martin. Local programs USC and UCLA are also on the 6-foot-6, 220-pounder’s radar. The San Bernadino, California, native ranks as Rivals’ No. 39 prospect in the state for the 2018 cycle.
  • CHI Defensive Lineman #69
Texas A&M signed uncommitted four-star 2018 DE Jeremiah Martin.
Martin was considering Oklahoma, and also received a strong late push from Washington. Ultimately, he signs with the Aggies, and gives Texas A&M a potential impact edge-rusher. He ranks 15th in 247 Sports list of weak-side defensive ends, and they also ranked him 35th overall in the always loaded state of California.

Uncommitted four-star 2018 DE Jeremiah Martin said that Texas A&M and Oklahoma were “neck-and-neck” for his commitment.
Outside of the Aggies and Sooners, Martin is planning on an official visit to USC for this weekend’s tilt against UCLA and is also eyeing official trips to Utah and Washington. Alabama -- whom Martin visited in unofficial capacity in August -- is also worth monitoring for the -foot-6, 220-pounder’s pledge. Martin has made big jumps in the rankings over the past few months, rising to No. 189 overall on Rivals after sitting outside the outlet’s top 250 altogether as recently as July.

Uncommitted four-star 2018 DE Jeremiah Martin will take an official visit to Washington this weekend.
Martin (6'6/220) indicated that Texas A&M and Oklahoma have been pushing hardest for his pledge as we hit the stretch run before National Signing Day. Oregon is also a player for the San Bernardino, California, native, though they should probably considered a dark horse to land his signature. On the 247Sports composite board, Martin sidles in at No. 254 overall in the 2018 class.
