With Edinger reportedly improving on his kickoffs, we’d imagine he’s still the favorite here.

He visited the team last Wednesday. Green Bay is satisfied with Billy Cundiff and Dave Rayner. Atlanta could have interest in Edinger.

Edinger is 14-for-22 this season. The only other kicker to miss so many kicks this season is Martin Gramatica, who was cut by the Bucs.

While he’s winning the job by default, Edinger is a fine fantasy league option. He’s an indoor kicker and the Vikings should score.

Edinger made one from 23 yards, missed one from 52 yards, had a 32-yarder blocked, and saw a fourth attempt ruined by a muffed snap. Oh, and the crowd in Chicago booed every time he stepped onto the field.

Edinger went 3-for-3 in field goals and 2-for-2 in PATs. His game-winning kick might have salvaged the Vikings season.

Edinger is competing with Aaron Elling, who hurt his right hip during warmups, for the starting place kicker duties. While the team hasn’t announced a starter, Edinger looks like the pick now. He could be a solid fantasy option playing for a high-octane offense.

Tennessee appears comfortable with Ola Kimrin as their Week One starter.
