Trevor Lawrence had a five-game streak with multiple touchdown passes come to an end against the Colts last Sunday, but he’s back at it against the Titans this week.
Lawrence threw three touchdown passes in the first 30 minutes of play in Week 18 and the Jaguars hold a 31-7 lead over the Titans at halftime. A win will make the Jaguars the AFC South champions and keep them in play for the No. 1 seed in the AFC heading into the late window of games on Sunday afternoon.
Lawrence opened the scoring for the Jags by connecting with Parker Washington and he added touchdown passes to tight ends Brenton Strange and Quentin Morris later in the half. Lawrence is 16-of-19 for 181 yards.
The Jags’ other touchdown came on a 58-yard interception return by safety Antonio Johnson. Johnson picked off Brandon Allen, who replaced Cam Ward after the Titans rookie was ruled out with a right shoulder injury.
Their final points of the half came just before halftime when Jaguars kicker Cam Little slammed home a 67-yard field goal. Little set an NFL record with a 68-yarder earlier this season and now holds the top two spots in the record book.
Jaguars Clips
The Jaguars are at home in Week 18 and it’s looking good for their chances of being home next weekend as well.
Safety Antonio Johnson snagged a pass by Titans quarterback Brandon Allen and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. The score made it 21-7 with 8:07 to play until halftime.
Allen is in the game because Cam Ward was knocked out by a right shoulder injury he suffered while scoring on a touchdown run in the first quarters.
Ward’s touchdown put the Titans up 7-0, but the Jags have scored 21 straight to take control of the game. A win makes them the AFC South champions.
Cam Ward’s rookie season is over.
The Titans rookie quarterback suffered a right shoulder injury while diving into the end zone to score a touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Ward was initially called questionable to return to the game, but he was ruled out heading into the second quarter.
Ward’s touchdown was his second rushing score of the year and he had 15 passing touchdowns in the first 16 games of the year. Eight of those scores came in the last four weeks, but the shoulder injury will stop Ward’s bid for a fifth-straight two-touchdown day.
Brandon Allen will be the quarterback for Tennessee the rest of the way. It’s 7-7 early in the second quarter in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars offense found its footing on their second possession of Sunday’s game.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was 5-of-5 for 60 yards to drive the Jags to their first points of the afternoon. They came on a 23-yard strike to wide receiver Parker Washington and it is now 7-7 with 6:02 left in the first quarter.
The Jaguars win the AFC South with a victory in Sunday’s game. They will also take the division if the Texans lose to the Colts.
Titans quarterback Cam Ward led the Titans to a touchdown to open the game. Ward then went to the locker room with a right shoulder injury and Brandon Allen has taken over for the Titans on their second possession. Ward is called questionable to return.
The Titans’ bid to spoil the Jaguars’ attempt to win the AFC South is off to a mixed start.
A Jeffery Simmons sack on first down set up a three-and-out for the Jaguars offense and rookie quarterback drove his team right down the field. Ward hit fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor for a 39-yard gain on an early third down and then ran the ball in for a seven-yard touchdown a short time later.
It was Ward’s second rushing touchdown of the season and it put the Titans up 7-0 with 10:09 to play. Ward took a big hit at the end of the run and returned to the locker room after being checked out in the sideline medical tent.
Brandon Allen is the Titans’ backup and he will have a major role in who winds up as the AFC South champs if Ward is unable to return. The Jags need a win or a Texans loss to clinch the division crown.
The Falcons had a handful of key players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints, but the Panthers will be glad to hear that all of them are in the lineup.
Wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Darnell Mooney, and cornerback A.J. Terrell will all play in Atlanta’s final game of the season. London, Pitts, and Mooney have knee injuries while Terrell was added to the report on Saturday with an illness.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins, defensive lineman David Onyemata, and linebacker Ronnie Harrison were also added to the report due to illness on Sunday. Harrison is the only one who will miss the game.
The result of the Falcons-Saints game will determine the NFC South champion. A Falcons win gives the Panthers the title while a Saints road victory will give the Bucs their fourth straight division crown.

It’s the final day of the regular season, and the playoff field is almost set, as 12 teams have clinched playoff berths and the Seahawks have clinched the top seed in the NFC. But much else remains in flux. Here’s a list of the teams remaining in contention for each playoff seed, and how they can earn those seeds.

1. Seahawks. The Seahawks get the No. 1 seed, a first-round by and home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs after beating the 49ers on Saturday night.
2. Bears or Eagles. If the Bears win or the Eagles lose, the Bears are the No. 2 seed. If the Bears lose and the Eagles win, the Eagles are the No. 2 seed.
3. Eagles or Bears. The team that doesn’t get the No. 2 seed gets the No. 3 seed. The Eagles are resting their starters and effectively conceding the No. 2 seed to the Bears and preparing to be the No. 3 seed.
4. Panthers or Buccaneers. If the Falcons win today, the Panthers win are the No. 4 seed. If the Falcons lose or tie today, the Buccaneers are the No. 4 seed.
5. 49ers or Rams. If the Rams lose or tie today, the 49ers are the No. 5 seed. If the Rams win today, the Rams are the No. 5 seed.

With a playoff appearance looming, the Jaguars are getting ahead of some offseason business.
Per multiple reports, the Jaguars have reached an agreement with offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen on a three-year, $51 million extension. The deal reportedly includes $32 million in guarantees.
Van Lanen, a sixth-round pick of the Packers in 2021, joined the Jaguars in 2022. He had signed a one-year, $3.4 million deal for 2025.
He has appeared in 15 games this season, with nine starts. Van Lanen had three starts in 2024, and none in his first three NFL seasons.
Van Lanen has played both tackle and both guard positions. He has started the last four games at left tackle, replacing Walker Little.
