The NFL has released the agenda for its annual spring meeting, which will take place May 25-26 in Dallas, and the biggest agenda item is the announcement of the 2014 Super Bowl host city. New York is considered a favorite to land the game, Super Bowl XLVIII.
If the owners vote, as expected, to play the Super Bowl at the new Giants/Jets stadium, that would mean we can pencil in February of 2014 for the first Super Bowl in history to be played outside in the cold.
The other candidates are a pair of Florida sites, the Dolphins’ stadium in South Florida and the Buccaneers’ stadium in Tampa Bay.
The agenda distributed by the league said a “wide range of league matters” will also be discussed. Although it wasn’t specifically mentioned, it’s believed that the owners will vote on whether to modify overtime for the regular season, as the league has already done for the playoffs.
