Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase has turned down interviews before.

But now that more stable franchises — ones which have actual quarterbacks — have come calling, he’s decided to listen.

Gase will use the Broncos bye weekend to interview with the Falcons, 49ers and Bears, after not doing the same last year when the Browns were interested

It’s a great opportunity to be able to do this, and for these guys to reach out and want to talk to me,” Gase said, via Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post. “I’m excited about it, but I’m also excited about the fact that we have another chance to make a run. We have a good team. Last year we fell short, and this is another opportunity for us to try to get one.

“I felt like it was the right choice for me to do this this weekend. And once that’s over, we’ll move on to whoever we end up playing.”

While Gase is often viewed as the guy wearing the headset while quarterback Peyton Manning calls the plays, Manning has always talked him up.

“I don’t think you need me to sit up here and campaign for him,” Manning said. “Last year I talked to a couple teams on behalf of him that reached out to me, and that may happen again, so I’m certainly glad to share my thoughts. I think it’s pretty well-documented my thoughts on him.

“But I’m excited that he has the opportunity that he’s going to have this weekend. He deserves it. I think the teams that he talks to will be impressed.”

While Gase has developed a reputation with Manning, it will be interesting to see how that translates when he’s working with lesser quarterbacks.
