Al Michaels reflects on Super Bowl XLIX

Michaels

Wednesday’s edition of PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio included a visit from the man who called one of the greatest -- if not the greatest -- NFL games of all time: Super Bowl XLIX. So what do one of the greatest -- if not the greatest -- play-by-play announcers think of the game?

Click the arrow in the box below to hear what NBC’s Al Michaels had to say. (And click this link if you’d like to learn more about Al’s memoir, You Can’t Make This Up.)

To no surprise, Al ranks Super Bowl XLIX among the very best ever. He also talks about the one he considered to be the worst (of the many he has covered), whether he considered dusting off one of his more famous lines after the Jermaine Kearse catch, when he first suspected he was hearing fake crowd noise during his career as a broadcaster, and plenty of other things.

Al even sang (sort of) a little of his favorite Katy Perry song.
